Nourishing & Flourishing In Our Communities – 2010
- Sponsoring Aspen Food & Wine Classic in Aspen, June 18-20. GREEN and GOLD Kiwifruit featured in dishes prepared by Chef Josh Emett, New Zealand’s only Michelin-starred chef of Gordon Ramsay’s Maze Restaurant in New York City and more recently, in Melbourne. Fresh kiwifruit samples, along with ZESPRI’s famous spife (spoon/knife utensil used to cut and scoop kiwifruit) will be featured at the New Zealand stand.

- Providing fresh kiwifruit to participants in Hy-Vee’s annual triathlon in West Des Moines on June 12 and 13.
- Sponsoring Velocure, a journey by 3 cyclists across 5 Canadian provinces and 6 American states to raise money for cystic fibrosis and diabetes.
ZESPRI has supported the following organizations/programs in their commitment to health and nutrition.
- Supported the 2010 Hy-Vee Triathlon in Des Moines, Iowa on June 12, with ZESPRI Green Kiwifruit and Spifes in the athlete’s tent at the end of the race.
- Enon Elementary School, Chester, Virginia Spifes and nutrition brochures to use as part of their Fruit of the Month Club
- Mollie B. Hoover Elementary School, Crawfordsville, Indiana Spifes and nutrition brochures as part of the school’s USDA fruit and vegetable grant
- Muskogee Public Schools, Muskogee, Oklahoma Spifes and nutrition brochures
- Mid-Iowa Community Action, Marshalltown, Iowa Spifes and nutrition brochures for Head Start classrooms with 3 and 4 year olds
- Salt Lake Valley Health Department, Women’s Cancer Screening Services Spifes
- Rhode Island Dietetic Association Spifes and brochures to the 300+ adult participants and 100+ kids for the Kids in Motion 5K Fun Run and obstacle course on Saturday, April 11
